Business Development Manager, DIY Products

Business Development Manager, DIY Products, £40,000 - £60,000 OTE, £80,000+OTE (uncapped). UK Wide. This is not a regular sales role as we are looking for a highly entrepreneurial and dynamic individual who is free thinking with the ability to identify new products and new markets to drive sales through and achieve profit targets. Unusually, we are looking for a 'mindset' rather than specific experience or qualifications so you must be the kind of person that always has an eye for new markets and is a strong character that 'makes it happen'. Salary is open and dependent on your previous achievements and what you feel you can deliver to the business.

To apply you must be able to demonstrate within your CV both stability and loyalty together with a proven track record of introducing new products into new markets and not the same old products to the same old clients! This is not an Account Management role and is very much a business development role in the purest sense, i.e. developing a business rather than simply winning sales.
The company are a £65M manufacturer of DIY products with an account portfolio, including all the major multiple DIY retailers. They are looking to diversify out of their core product range and need someone who is a true business developer - the kind of person that has new product ideas and will research the market, work with R&D, devise a strategy, agree it with the board and deliver the bottom line projected. The role has uncapped OTE, and the company are totally comfortable with paying a % of GP on your ideas and performance. Therefore, the role and package will easily develop into a six figure salaried role.

As a person you will have a history of introducing completely fresh ways of operating into a business and will be perceived by peers as a 'free thinker'. This role will encourage 'maverick' qualities so requires a strong character that is creative, doesn't work within conventional parameters and is prepared to challenge the 'status quo'. This is a highly autonomous role that requires an experienced professional that has a proven track record of developing and introducing new product lines and selling into new markets. The absolute ideal candidate will have experience within the broad 'building products' sector.

To apply you must be an exceptionally strong and dynamic sales professional with a career that demonstrates continuous success. You will be passionate and energetic with an innovative working practise that loves change and breaking convention. Reporting directly into the MD, in a role adjacent to the existing sales team, you will be tenacious, proactive and confident with the genuine ability to enthuse clients and colleagues with ideas and fresh thinking. You will have a positive and proactive 'can do' attitude that passionately ensures that your strategy becomes a success. You will recover quickly from setbacks and have the courage to stand up for your own beliefs and ideas.
